Are you passionate about arts and culture? Have creative ideas to contribute? Want to develop your skills and experience? We're looking for 2 new volunteer trustees to join our small, dedicated team. Prestwich Arts Festival is 100% volunteer run and this is a great opportunity to get involved in making our annual arts festival for the people a reality. Our board meets monthly throughout the year and weekly in the run up to the festival in September.
Secretary
Our fantastic secretary has been with the festival for the last 3 years, and is now moving onto a different Prestwich Arts Festival board role to grow her volunteer experience. So she will be on hand to offer the new secretary guidance and support. Here are her top tips on what the role is all about:
"This role is perfect for someone who is highly organised, has strong written communication skills and an interest in event coordination and community engagement. Key tasks include:
Meeting Coordination – Organising monthly board meetings, preparing agendas and taking notes.
Festival Administration & Support – helping to keep the festival running smoothly behind the scenes, including maintaining guest lists, and answering first point of contact emails.
Event Management - All board members have the opportunity to coordinate and lead on festival event
My favourite thing about the secretary role is working in a small team of creative and passionate people to bring the festival to life and bringing the joy of arts to the local community’’
Community grants co-ordinator
As a volunteer run festival we're reliant on small grants and sponsorship to make sure we can deliver an exciting and engaging festival. The community grants co-ordinator role will lead on our vital fundraising activity, searching out new grant opportunities, writing applications and developing sponsorship packages.
If you're interested in either role, please send a short email highlighting your preferred role and related experience to prestwichartsfestival@gmail.com by Monday 31 March.
If you would like an informal chat about either of the roles, contact Jane our Chair on the same email.
We look forward to hearing from you!
